Penicillin or Amoxicillin Anyone???

So a week ago I took Spencer in for his well baby plus fever which was an ear infection. I was sent home to give him Amoxicillin for ten days. They told me to bring him back in ten days to check the ear and make sure everything was okay. I ended up taking him in today because he woke up with a horrible, horrible rash on his face and body. Just yesterday I noticed some redness start to flare up in one cheek but I assumed it was his eczema coming back and since giving him the antibiotic he started scratching his head/hair more. I thought it was cute at the time cause I thought he was just playing with his hair but looking back I don't think he was playing with his hair. At first thought it might be a reaction to carrots cause just last night was his first exposure to them. A reaction to the antibiotic did cross my mind but I was confused why he wouldn't have reacted sooner. The doctor didn't think it was carrots and his explanation for a delayed reaction was the body often has to have 10 to 30 exposures before it reacts. I had already given him his first dose for the day and the doctor said he would probably flare up even more tomorrow before getting better. His ear is looking lots better but the doctor said it was still pink but isn't going to put him on any other antibiotic and he said it should continue to heal on its own and to just watch for a fever. Right now I'm putting him on Zyrtec and he's really being an angel. He looks miserable but he doesn't complain much. So for now we have some extra Amoxicillin. And a side note: Spencer gained 7 oz since last weeks check up!

Graduation

Three years that went too fast! Mixed feelings are shared between Chris and me as we look back. Chris loves school so much that he's sad to leave it behind and enter the real world. I'm sad to leave behind "happy valley" and all our friends. On the other hand we're both ready to get an income.

Commemoration was great though. I enjoyed all the speakers and it was quite insightful and inspiring. There were a few times I almost caught myself from crying I was sad that graduation was "the end". I loved going into law school with the boys to visit their dad and got to know quite a few students and was sad to know we won't be making that trip anymore at least it won't be the same anymore. But celebrate we did, Chris style. We had a barbecue with avocados, pineapple, bacon, grilled onions, specially seasoned patties and brats.

Pictures to document the event!

6 Months and Counting

Six months has come and gone and it's hard to imagine it much before then. Both Spencer and Jared have changed immensely. Spencer is now 18 lbs and 27 3/4 inches. Big boy:) I have been curious and wondering if I should be worried about Spencer not sitting up. Jared was sitting well before six months and Spencer just hadn't seemed even close. I'd sit him on the floor and he'd either lay to the side back or forward right away. I knew he had strong tummy muscles because he's constantly lifting his feet and head up off the ground when lying on his back and that's tough you try it! Anyways... on his six month mark he just started sitting up for a short period and by the next day he was sitting up for minutes at a time.
A few days before his appointment he had been running a fever and I'd been having a hard time keeping him below 100 degrees. It ended up he had an ear infection. Poor guy, this is his second already! His sleeping has gotten worse since being sick so we are now back into trying to get him sleeping through the night again. I can't wait to have at least three bedrooms!

What Type of Ring???

I need some help. My friend's soon to be fiance has come to me to help him pick out a ring. my friend likes unique jewelry, not weird but pretty unique. I'm going to post a few different options and if you can tell me which ones you like and if there's something I haven't thought of let me know. I don't feel very qualified to be helping him so any input would be much appreciated.

Also he wants to go pick the ring out this next week so if you have a comment make it quick:)

Diamond shape: Round, Marquise, Emerald, Princess, Pear, Oval, Heart, Baguette and Trillion.

White gold vs. Gold

Engagement band or single band

Design of diamonds on the the sides or a single diamond
Tension, prongs or bezel

I know there's a whole lot more to rings than what I'm posting so if there's anything you've seen that you've liked I'd really appreciate hearing about it:)

Click on the picture to see it better and tell me which rings you like and why. If you have link for a ring you like please put in the comment.
Thanks!!!

April Fools!!!!

Right as I was getting ready to put the boys down for their naps today I thought about giving Chris a scare. Before today I had often dropped hints that there's no way to know if we are pregnant or not. There's times when I psyche myself out thinking I'm feeling the way I did when I was pregnant and therefore psyche Chris out as well.

I decided to have my friend that was pregnant take a pregnancy test for me. I made sweet and sour chicken which I hardly ever make. I set the table and used the cloth napkins rolling the test in Chris' napkin and holding it together with a ring. I got Chris to open it up by asking him to show Jared how to use a napkin. It fell on the floor and he looked down and kept saying, "Are you serious!" over and over again. I wish I had the camera on from the beginning but got a few camera shots and then switched to video mode. I got three different videos and will just post all of them:)

I first told him April fools and then a little later said I was serious and made up the story to make him think April fools but in reality I was serious. Poor guy. I loved it though:)

Sorry for the delay, I had to use you tube to finally get it to work.
