Nothing Too Exciting

Have you ever felt trapped in your own home? Well we did this past night and day. Chris was playing with our alarm system from the previous owners and set it off. That bugger is LOUD! We couldn't turn it off so we ended up unplugging it from the wall outlet(it was screwed in). But even after it was unplugged it still would beep every couple minutes. I tried to go get our mail at one point but quickly closed the door when the alarm sounded once I opened the door. After many phone calls and many emails sent we still hand no solution. Chris read the manual but to no avail, all we learned is that the back up battery lasts 18-24 hours. Great. The alarm system is by the back door in our room so Chris and I slept on the couch. Then for church this morning we all huddled by the door and Chris opened it and we ran out quickly before our ears received too much damage. We then waited in the car hoping it would go back to the regular beeping pattern which it did after two minutes. When we got home from church Chris had received an email telling us to punch in an easy set of numbers and it worked. I'm just glad I get to sleep in my bed tonight!

I found a top tooth in Spencer's mouth today and for the first time he let go while standing on his own. I knew he could stand on his own and have tried several times but he's just too wiggly to stay up. But today while I was laying on the ground he crawled over and pulled himself up and then got something in his hands that he took his hands off me and peered curiously into his little hands. Later I caught glimpses of him letting go pretty often. I wonder how much longer till he walks...

Today was our second week at church here and I really like our ward so far. There are a lot of young couples with kids and people are really nice and then there's some interesting people to. I love it!!! Jared LOVES his nursery! I didn't think we'd ever be able to replace our nursery leaders in Provo but he loves it even more here. Never have we been able to walk him to the door and just leave, unless he's distracted immediately. But here we walk to the door and he's the one to say, "Bye Dad(Mom)!" Last week when we went to pick him up he cried cause we were taking him away. The leaders in the room truly love these little kids and the kids know it. I'm sad he'll have to leave in January for sunbeams. CRAZY! I will have a sunbeam!!!
Earlier this week we tried to go camping but failed to look at the weather. It rained almost the whole way to our destination. We got there and it was cool so we put on warm clothes which got wet while playing and eating lunch. Due to lack of clothes and the weather getting muggier as time went on we ended up going back home. It was still worth the hour and a half drive just to play and have a picnic.

Move Update

We're here in Chicago! We left Saturday after 2:00PM to get my hair cut by my cousin Marcy. When we hit the road again I-80 was closed so we had to go up towards Ogden. Grrrr... After driving through the night, short breaks, and stopping for church we made it here Sunday just before 10:00 PM. Glad that's behind us.

Now it's Tuesday, we have the internet but no stuff. It was suppose to get here today or tomorrow and it's coming tomorrow around 1 or 2 o'clock. In the mean time we are pretty bored. Chris and I have good books to read but the problem is we have an empty house so that means entertaining the kids! We've shopped a bit and done as much as we can to get ready for our stuff to arrive. I'm glad it's tomorrow. I'm ready for my bed instead of an air matress that just Chris and I can sleep on (Jared's been sharing with us and Spencer's been in a port-a-crib). And we're definitely ready for our kitchen stuff and more importantly chairs and couches!!!

Jared has been excited to move to Chicago and has been asking to go for a couple months. On the way here he was really excited but part way through decided he wanted to go back and see his cousin Katie. Today we went to the zoo and before he went he asked if he could go with Grace (the last time we went to the zoo it was with her and her family). I think he's in need of some kid interaction. Oh, and he woke up this morning crying for Baillie. He loves the place but we know he misses familiar faces.

Just a quick update!

ALOHA Meservy Family

With Chris and I heading off to Chicago, Ty in California, and Bailey graduating high school Jim and Cherie wanted to get the family together for a big vacation one last time before who knows when again! They decided to take everyone to Oahu Hawaii. Can you say FUN!!! What's even better is there was only 2 kids and 11 adults. That means a real vacation for Chris and me. Spent most of the day at Pounders Beach (so fun) had a late lunch early dinner at Haleiwa at a burger place. Huge burgers. Went to Dole Plantation and took the train tour (Grandma, Grandpa, Chris, me and the boys while everyone else did the maze. Older boys went back to Pounders after they bought boogie boards.
