Halloween 2010

Jared originally wanted to be Iron Man but when we went back to get the costume it was gone. His next choice was this fireman costume we found. It's a pretty cool costume and nice quality making it a nice dress up costume all-year round. Spencer was easy. He asked to be Peter Pan, who he was last year. His shirt still fit but his pants were on the short side but we made them work. And Miles was what everyone of my boys were around this age... A monkey.
We started our festivities out with Jared's school Halloween Party. The teachers were nice enough to let Spencer eat snacks with everyone and sit in the circle when passing out treats to each other. On Saturday we went to the Art Institute and did a craft while there. I didn't know the children's craft section had shorter hours so when we got there we only had 10 mins to make a costume. This is what we came up with... not too bad for me and my skillz;)After the Art Institute we went and visited dad at work. While there the boys used one of the monitors to watch "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin". The boys loved it:)

When we went trick or treating we went with our neighbor, Aunt Terri. Our street was crowded and there were lots of people dressed up.

Below is Jared showing me how tall he's getting. He's tall enough to touch the rounded edge of the smaller sink. I love how they measure themselves by what they are able to do.
Sharing isn't a problem for Miles. He's almost too good:)
We had a wonderful Halloween. Now I need to report on Thanksgiving...

Quote of the Day

While going to the bathroom:
Spencer: I have water in my butt.
me: laugh
Spencer: I do, see!

Yeah he has diarrhea and it did sound like water.

Family Picture Fails

Back in October we went to North Ave Beach to have a friend take our family pictures and then we took some of their family. I must say she did awesome! But working with three rambunctious boys is hard. Needless to say we've decided in the future we will take pictures for five minutes because after that it's history. We were hoping for just one good photo and we were lucky and got a handful. THANKS Beth! Here are a few pictures to show you it wasn't all "picture perfect".

Spencer was our little runaway most the time. Turkey! This isn't the one going on our wall but very sweet! I'm thinking I'll put some of our good photos up with a Christmas post, for now enjoy our sneak preview:)

Idaho... Way Back in July

I'm sure I had every intention of writing more about the pictures I uploaded but I uploaded these pictures back in September so my main goal now is to push the publish button and maybe write a few things here and there... Jared loves his cousins; he especially looks up to his older cousins (Jacob playing with Jared)

Below golfing with dad at the driving range
Chris wasn't too excited to go boating, he's never been a big fan but I think it's safe to say he's glad we did. I even got up on the slalom after who knows how long and it felt good:)

Golfing with their dad early one morning

After doing the first 9 holes we went to the driving range where we all, even me, hit some balls

Nice dive;)
Hot Men!
Grandma Meservy and I think Calvin, Ashley's baby, or Miles?

Cousins having fun:)
Fireworks!

Then we went to my house for the big ones!
Chris left on the 4th and the boys and I watched the CSI fireworks with family later in the evening

Going to Idaho for a month was wonderful, besides missing my husband. After being away for so long and loving Chicago I've often wondered if I could go back. But being back made me remember the things I love about a small town and confirming the fact that nothing replaces family. It was soooo nice to be by family and see how much my kids loved being by cousins, grandparents, and Bo (Mal and Brandon's dog) made me sad we aren't closer to it all. I don't know where we'll end up but I really do love Idaho and most of all our families! Will you take us again for a whole month next year?!
